Talk by Ms. Premola Ghosh and Ms. Poonam Sahi
To create a rich, powerful connection between students and reading the school has taken the initiative of inviting authors to talk on the books written by them. On May 10, Ms. Premola Ghosh and Ms. Poonam Sahi visited the school to talk on books written, illustrated and published by them. Ms. Ghose is an author and an illustrator of several children’s books. She is the recipient of Cruz de Oficial (Officer Class) award by the King of Spain in 2001. Ms. Poonam Sahi has, over the years has created Advertisements, Folders, leaflets and communication material.
She has specialized in working for women, children and health issues. She is a publisher of children’s books and has illustrated over a 100 of them. As an artist, she has had many solo exhibitions. They conducted three sessions. The first session was for the students of the Art School, the other for the junior school and the last for the middle school. They used illustrations as a medium to tell the story. The thoughts were well presented and delivered. They introduced students to the processes of writing, developing characters, and expressing creativity. To get readers excited about books, they conducted a quiz on the monuments of Delhi. The art students enjoyed illustrating the theme “Jungle” given to them. The talk ended with Bivab giving a Vote of thanks and presenting each of them with a Memento as a token of our appreciation.
