UNE JOURNEE FRANCOPHONE
French Day was celebrated at Welham Boys School on 7th August, 2012. The students who had opted for French as 3rd language took part in the French Day programme which took place in the afternoon at 3o’clock. We had approximately 55 students participating in the event. The duration of the programme was one hour. As a part of Platinum Jubilee celebration we had planned celebrating French National Day Which is on 14th July. As the school was at vacation we chose to have it on 7th august. The dress code fof the day was blue, white and red- the flag colours.

We began the programme with the French National anthem sung by the school choir followed by the introduction to the Chief Guest by the Head Boy. Prabhapaar recited a poem in French which was followed by a French song “Champs Elysees” sung by the school choir. After the song, we had a fashion show in which famous French personalities walked the ramp. Later Cindrella was staged in French. Mr. Verniers also spoke on the programme. The Chief Guest summed up the programme expressing his appreciation for the programme.

The Chief Guest was Mr. Thierry Robert, the Deputy Cultural counselor at the French Embassy in India. Mr. Verniers who represents “Sciences po’’ University in India Was also present on the occasion Best complement that the students could have got from the chief guest was that this progarmme reminded him of his childhood days in France

UNE JOURNEE FRANCOPHONE
La journee de Francophonie a ete fete le 07 Aout 2012 a Welham Boys’ School. Les etudiants qui etudient le francais comme 2em langue etrangere a l’ecole y ont participle. Cette fete a eu lieu de 15 h a 16h. Environs 55 etudiants ont participe a cet evenement. Pour feter 75 annees de notre ecole nous avons decide de celebrer la Fete Nationale Francaise qui se fete le 14 juillet. Etant l’ ecole en vacances ce jour - la nous l’ avons eu le 7 aout 2012.
La fete s’est commence avec l’Hymn Na tionale Francaise chante par le choeur de l’ecole. Apres un etudiant de classe 12 a presente l’ invite honneur au public. Ensuite un etudiant a lu un des poems de Du Belley, suivi d’une chanson francaise << Les Champs Elysees>> de Joe Dassin. Nous avons eu un defile de mode, les etudiants deguise en des personalites celebres francaise.
Puis le compte des fees a ete presente en francais au public. A la fin nous avons eu M. Robert, conseiller culturel a l’ ambassade de France en Inde et M. Verniers qui ont fait un discours. M. Robert a apprecie le travail des etudiants qui lui a rappele de sa vie a l’ecole en France.
