The ethos and spirit of Public School education is a complete, well- rounded education. At Welham Boys' School, sports and extra- curricular activities are as important a part of our curriculum as academics. The school has a vibrant Co- Curricular programme. The boys opt from a variety of choices for their CCA , Societies ranging from Creative Writing, Electronics, Paper Recycling, Design Technology, Kite Making and Flying, Calligraphy, Pottery, Aero Modelling, Carpentry, Wood Work, Bamboo Work, Bird Watching and Philately to English and Hindi Elocution, Debate and Dramatics, Photoshop and Design, Science Club, Quiz Club, Model United Nation simulation programme, Heritage Club, Photography, Welham News, Oliphant, Word Worm, Sankalp, Film Society, Electronics Club, Chess Club and Dance Club.
OUTREACH AND COMMUNITY SERVICE is a core area for the School. Concern for the environment and our immediate community is a vital part of the School curriculum; indeed it is a quintessential characteristic of Welham Boys. The students make a weekly trip to the city streets where they take classes, organize games and help the students there with their study and preparation. Students visit institutions like Prem Dham, an old age home, Cheshire and Raphael home for children with special needs. The Welham Community gets together to raise clothes and medical supplies for any disaster which needs attention.
The School continues to build on its long term relationship with its adopted village at Jaidwar, approximately 145 kms from Dehradun.

Mid Term is an integral part of the school curriculum and is organized twice a year. Students and teachers look forward to this outdoor event to break the monotony of the daily school routine. The primary focus is to inculcate leadership qualities, build endurance and courage amongst students.
The school provides enough opportunity to the staff and students to plan their Mid Term. This is to inculcate leadership qualities, while planning and implementing the plan under tutor supervision. As a normal practice, junior school goes to nearby places and spends 3 nights and 4 days away from school Middle school goes for a longer trip. The trek stretches to 4 nights and 5 days. Senior School generally plans treks/mountaineering training in the Himalayas. - Mid term
Students go to various age appropriate destinations. The school encourages and promotes IAYP treks.
