Mar 2012 Leadership Camp
March 2012
Keeping in view the Platinum Jubilee, this year the school has enlarged the prefectorial body and now it comprises of Head-Boy, School Sports Captain, four House Captains and four House Prefects. On 25th February the newly appointed prefectorial body along with the Principal, DOSW and senior Housemasters went for a night-out to the Snow-line resort at Kalsi. The objective of this program was to train the prefects to become extraordinary leaders to be capable of taking on challenging assignments in school and delivering results.
The program was organized to bring forth the hidden leadership qualities and to instill new levels of understanding leadership in a more natural way i.e. through discussions among the newly elected prefectorial body and the senior Housemasters under the guidance of the Principal.
On the first day, the discussion started with the prefects drawing up an agenda based on the various issues and areas of concern related to school. Issues such as Reward and Punishments, Consistency in Good Academics Performance, Prefect’s Empowerment, Class 12th position in school, Teacher-Student Relationship, Policies & Systems and Improving Students Discipline came up.
They were initiated by the Principal and then debated on and discussed at length. The Members tried to work out common solutions which would be appropriate and in the larger interest of the school; Duties and Job cards for the captains were redefined enabling them to take appropriate action in maintaining discipline in school.
On the second day the discussion continued and ended post lunch. In the end, it was evident that we had reached a consensus and were ready to take on the forthcoming challenges. In the evening we visited the Asokan Rock Edict in Kalsi and walked up to the banks of River Yamuna greatly enthused with hopes of a better future.
