The Peacock Stage came alive by the breathtaking performance of Junior School students on March 10, 2012.
Class 3 performed ‘The Shooting Match’ a play based on the story of the five Pandavas and Guru Dronacharya. They learnt that while performing a task the most important aspect is unwavering focus.
Classes 4 A and B gave interesting information on ants which they had researched from the internet and they also put up a short skit ‘The Ants and the Grasshopper’. It is based on Aesop’s fable which not only taught them a lesson on the rewards of hard work but they also enjoyed the process of scripting, editing, directing and then putting it together all by themselves.
Class 5 A and B put up a play on ‘William Tell. It is the famous story about the expert marksman splitting the apple into two with his crossbow. The students worked together on dialogue delivery, voice modulation, expression, stage setting, direction and other elements of drama.
These units are part of the syllabus for the second semester. Props for all the plays were prepared by the students and each and every student had a role to play. The performance was well appreciated by the Principal, Vice- Principal, HoD English and many other teachers who were present.
