Photography and Illustrating Presentation
On the afternoon of Sunday 18 of March 2012 our school was visited by an old boy Mr. Vidura Jang Bahadur, batch of 1994 and now a painter living in Delhi with his two other guests Ms. Josie Willey and Ms. Gemma Jackson from London. The visit was a presentation on different aspects of photography, movie making and illustrating. Mr. Bahadur enlightened us with his photography and narrated beautifully through his photography that was to become his life’s "PASSION" rather than just a hobby. He showed us some of his mesmerizing captures and forced our minds to re -look at our vision on photography. He especially talked to us through his pictures of every day life of Indo-Chinese people living in India. He gracefully reflected the day to day lives of these fascinating people through his sharp and bold pictures.
This session was followed by Ms. Josie Willey, the creative set designer currently working on "The Game of Thrones", shown by HBO.Ms .Willey helped us to understand the importance and beauty of set building and the methods manipulated to create the directors vision. She helped us to understand how this area is of tremendous value as it contributes in making a show successful or not!
Ms. Gemma Jackson showed us examples of illustrations of companies who approach her with a specific idea, which she has to give in illustrative form. She used her passion along with her creative hands and brain to display complex talks, speeches and meetings into extremely simple mind maps. All present in the hall were amazed – both by her speed and by how she used to display such long talks in just a single board!!
We all are very thankful to Mr. Bahadur, Ms. Willey and Ms. Jackson for the help provided by them to not only show us a whole new world of several occupations but also to motivate us to follow our own passions and live our dreams.
