Visit of Secretary General, IAYP

Mr. John May is the Secretary General of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award International Association, which co-ordinates and develops the Award worldwide. The Award is an exciting self-development programme available to all 14 to 25 year olds.

Mr. John May started his address by saying that he was delighted to be present in the school. He was interested in knowing that how many students were doing the award and asked those students who were doing the award to raise their hands. He was happy to see that a lot of students raised their hands and complemented the boys.

Mr May laid the emphasis on

  1. Belief in self
  2. Belief in one’s ideas
  3. Team work
  4. Implementation of the ideas
  5. Doing it now
  6. Belief in people.

Mr May emphasized that ideas will be successful mostly through self belief. He added that people have great ideas but they do not work on them and said that we must have firm belief in our ideas and work on them. He also emphasized on the approach of doing it now rather than postponing things for the future. He also advised the students to take the help of the elders in their Award journey.
