Celebrating fifty years of IAYP in India
In association with The British Council India, IAYP India had a successful evening of fun and youthful celebrations on 21st April 2012. The celebrations began with the 3rd Annual Meeting of Gold Award Holders Society of India, where Padma Shri Ajeet Bajaj, a Gold Award Holder, addressed the gathering. Mr. James Bevan, The British High Commissioner as Guest of Honour, presented about 60 young Gold Award winners Badges and Certificates. These included young people from mainstream and premier schools functioning as Youth Engaging Society Centres, individuals from colleges and young leaders with social and economic challenges and Special Projects from all across the country.
Three students from Welham Boys’ School, Varun Agrawal, Krishna Agrawal and Divesh Bidhuri received their Gold in this glittering ceremony. The students were very happy and contended with their achievement. These students felt that they would continue with the award programme as volunteers and guide young people through their award journey.
