Greetings and a Happy New Year to you and your dear ones !

We have all experienced the adolescent stage in our life-cycle. We can recount the problems, dilemmas, stresses and excitements that we experienced as young people. Today our young people are living in a more complex world, which has resulted in increased demands on them, a phenomenon that is directly related to their health, emotional and social well-being. They need to have a number of skills to function as individuals and as members of social groups. Effective acquisition of life skills can influence the way our boys cope with the pressures of a 21^st century school environment and face the challenges present in their lives.

To reinforce existing positive behavior and instill life skills that enable our boys to not only do well in school but also to translate knowledge and attitudes into more positive channels, we have planned and organized "Empower Yourself ", a life skills camp at Welham Boys’ School from 9^th February to 12^th February, 2012 the first of its kind here. All students will participate in motley of activities, exercises and sessions specifically designed to cater to their needs under the guidance of experts and with the help of teachers. A nominal amount of approximately Rs 2000/- per child will be billed to each student for the same.

Life skills essential to manage risk, communicate effectively, cope / resolve conflicts young people encounter in their daily lives, relationship management and interpersonal communication, etc have been incorporated into the following sessions:

1. Adventure Sports
2. Dance classes by Shiamak Davar Group
3. Western Music / Rock Band
4. "School Cinema"
5. Art
6. Public Speaking
7. Etiquette training / Personal grooming
