A total of 55 students participated in the workshop. The idea behind conducting the workshop was to equip the children with a modern thought process of sustainable development for Environmental Change by introducing them to additive manufacturing in place of traditional manufacturing. They will also be able to enhance their creativity by understanding the complexity and design freedom and will also be able to customize the given design without incurring any extra cost.

The following Lesson Plan was followed in conducting the workshop

  • Introduction to 3D Printers and its technology
  • Working Principle of 3D Printers
  • Working on 3D Designing Software Tinker Cad by Autodesk
  • Project Design
  • Understanding of slicing technique and software
  • 3D Design repository and printing services

The students were provided with a slicing software which is used to complete the 3D project and get it ready for printing. The facilitators introduced the students to a drone which was created using the 3D printing technology and they also gave a live demonstration of the product. This drone is the smallest one ever created and is also mounted with HoloLens to monitor its movement. The workshop was highly enriching for the students and got them interested to enhance their creativity in the new 3D printing course.
