"Welham Boys School in collaboration with The Shivalik Hills Foundation Trust co-hosted a talk by Col DPK Pillai. Col DPK Pillai a brave army officer spoke to around 200 students and teachers about his journey as a courageous 23-year-old soldier who was severely wounded in counter-insurgency operations in Longdi Pabram village, where he saved the lives of 2 children despite his injuries. Because of his courage and dedication to the country he has been awarded Shaurya Chakra, Wound Medal, Special Seva Medal, amongst many others."
