Debating in Welham Boys' is an active platform, always on the go with more and more students taking up the activity and working hard to gain expertise in some of the most popular formats such as the World School Debating, The British Parliamentary, the Asian Parliamentary and the Cambridge Format.
The debaters undergo rigorous training under the guidance of experts in the field. Welhamites, in the recent years, have been doing extremely well on the school debating circuits at the National and City levels. Not only do they receive accolades, but are recognized and respected as promising debaters at these events. In 2018-19, the School Senior team lifted the Oliphant Trophy after a gap of seven years.
