NewsVISIT TO KHALANGA WAR MEMORIAL 17-02-2020

As part of the ‘Know Your Habitat’ initiative of the Department of Social Science, 68 students of Grade 6 visited Khalanga War memorial, situated at Sahastradhara Road on 17th February 2020. It is a famous tourist spot in Dehradun which depicts the courage and bravery of the Gorkhas who fought the Khalanga Battle. It is the world’s first memorial erected by an army for their opponent. They were escorted by their respective class teachers and resource person, Mr. Ajay Sharma. He briefed the children about the objective of the visit and significance of the place. The students were fascinated at the sight of the War Memorial. It was a treasure trove of information. They were asked to fill out a worksheet to solidify what they experienced.
