NewsGraduation Ceremony - 2023 10-02-2023

The Graduation ceremony at Welham Boys’ School was a stately yet solemn affair as its staff and students bid adieu to the outgoing batch of class 12 CBSE students on February 10, 2023. The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Mrs. Jyotsna Brar, former Principal of Welham Girls’ School. The Principal, Ms. Sangeeta Kain in her address to the graduating batch advised the students to follow their moral compass, look at the world through the prism of the values they have imbibed over the years, and make a difference in the lives of others.
 
After a Vedic prayer chant by the students, citations were presented by the Chief Guest to the class of 2022-2023. Arham Jain and Shivam Rastogi received the Scholar’s Gown and Scholar’s Scarf respectively. The Principal then announced the most awaited and prestigious awards of the evening: the Principal’s Commendation Award was presented to Meet Baani Kaur; the Faculty Award for Exemplary Behavior went to Raghav Agarwal and Vishal Kumar Gupta; Rishit Garg was felicitated with The Kataria Trophy for the Best All-Rounder and the Gulab Ramchandani Trophy for the Gentleman of the Year was conferred on Arham Jain.
 
This year, the King of Constantine medal was awarded to Rishit Garg for outstanding work within the local and school community. This medal truly embraces the spirit of the Round Square ideals.
 
In her address to the School, Ms. Gauri Jain (mother of Arham Jain) thanked the staff and the school for their role in bringing up the boys. Dr. Sonia Garg, Rishit’s mother commended the school for inculcating values that would stand the test of time.
 
Arnav Goel, the outgoing School Captain spoke about how Welham had equipped him and his batchmates to deal with life and urged his juniors to carve a niche for themselves and thus continue the legacy of striving selflessly.
 
The Chief Guest in her speech commended the school for its pivotal role in moulding this country's future citizens and leaders. She emphasized the need for students to pause and appreciate the Welham journey. 
 
Amidst the melodious strains of Auld Lang Sync, the batch of ’23 had a final handshake with the Principal and released their wish lanterns into the sky.

Welham Boys’ School started life as Welham Preparatory School way back in 1937, when Ms. Oliphant invested her humble capital and started the School in a rented building, which she called White House. Later, she rented another building Bethany that today is our dining hall.
