NewsDelhi Public School, Mihan - Model United Nations Conference MIMUN 04-02-2022

The School started off the year by participating in the MIMUN'22 (Mihan Model United Nations Conference), hosted by the Delhi Public School, Mihan, Nagpur on the 30th of January 2022.
This was the 1st edition of MIMUN with 5 diverse committees, each providing a dynamic and
intellectually stimulating experience that brought about a prolific change in the learning horizon
of us delegates.
The proceedings of the Mihan Model United Nations Conference started off with the extravagant
opening ceremony, the ceremony was graced by the presence of eminent principal's from
across the country alongside the Chief Guest, following the Inaugural speech by the Principal of
DPS, Mihan and the Chief Guest's address, the Secretary General of the conference, declared
the conference open.
This virtual conference had over 200 delegates participating from across various nations, with
over 5 committees, namely; the United Nations Human Rights Council, United Nations
Commission on the Status of Women, World Health Organisation, Lok Sabha and Marvel. After
rigorous committee sessions throughout the day, comprising of debate, deliberation and through
documentation we finally had the much awaited closing ceremony.

3. Atharva Agarwal - Best Delegate - UNCSW
4. Keshav Agarwal - Special Mention - UNCSW
5. Divyansh Makheeja - Outstanding Delegate - WHO
6. Arnav Goel - Best Delegate - WHO
7. Aayusman Tiwari - Outstanding Delegate - Lok Sabha
8. Abhyuday Tulsyan - Best Delegate - Lok Sabha
9. Trayambak Pathak - 1st High Commendation- Marvel
10. Jaap Sardana - 2nd High Commendation - Marvel
 
All in all, this conference was an excellent opportunity to expand on interests in international
relations, politics, economics, law and global current affairs in general. Through discussion,
negotiation and debate, we came to solutions to some of the environmental, social and
economic problems, as well as the critical and perennial issue of war and peace
 
Ultimately, Welham Boys' School lifted the maximum number of Awards at the Mihan Model
United Nations Conference 2022.

Welham Boys’ School started life as Welham Preparatory School way back in 1937, when Ms. Oliphant invested her humble capital and started the School in a rented building, which she called White House. Later, she rented another building Bethany that today is our dining hall.
