Introduction
Across the world, schools with a deep rooted heritage like ours have periodically felt the need to take up measures to raise funds. From a modest beginning in 1937 with Ms. Oliphant’s personal finances, the School began with 30 Boarders, 20 day-scholars, rented premises and of course, a big dream. In 1956 Ms. Oliphant donated all her assets to 'Welham Boys' School Society, a NON-PROFIT trust which is administered by a Board of Trustees, along with an unsaid promise that one will take Welham from 'Strength to Strength', its motto since the 1940s.
Why Fund Raising?
An unknown person has wisely remarked that Fundraisers are the catalysts of change. It helps an organisation to strategise and plan its work effectively.
The School has grown from a preparatory school of humble beginnings to a full-fledged school with over 550 boarders, over 100 staff members and a campus spread over 30 acres. Since the last many years the School has been in an ongoing mode of constantly bettering itself in all areas, be it academics, sports, co-curricular, infrastructure, Teacher Development, Student Development or Internationalism.
