Why Fund Raising?
The School has grown from a preparatory school of humble beginnings to a full-fledged school with over 550 boarders, over 100 staff members and a campus spread over 30 acres. Since the last many years the School has been in an ongoing mode of constantly bettering itself in all areas, be it academics, sports, co-curricular, infrastructure, Teacher Development, Student Development or Internationalism. This trend must continue endlessly
Some of the recent additions / alterations to the Campus are:
- A Swimming Pool (Partly Funded by our Alumni)
- The Theatron (a spectacular Amphi Theatre with a larger than life stage and seating for 600-800 spectators)
- The Maintenance Block with a state of the art Climbing Wall
- International Standard Squash Courts
- Flood Lit Tennis Courts
- A recent addition is the New Hostel for Krishna House started in October 2015 and completed in July 2017
- The Riverside Building in the Academic Block, installed with the latest technology Interactive Flat Panels (IFPs)
- Upcoming South Block

Yet, more will always remain to be done in the sphere of infrastructure to keep up with the changing times. Welham Boys' School Society being a NON-PROFIT / CHARITABLE Organization relies mainly on the fees charged to the students for its revenue, and any surplus, if generated, is ploughed back into the development of the School. We do not receive any financial support from the Government or any other Organization / Institution.
These surpluses are used in enhancing and creating new infrastructure and providing bursaries to deserving students. We are a Self-sustainable school in more ways than one, but schools and universities of our kind do not have large enough fund reserves to keep up with the ambition and dreams we share for our students and staff.
Winston Churchill has opined that "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." Thus, we look forward to the noble generosity of our able stakeholders to take us forward at a faster pace. We welcome any donation-one-time or regular, small or big- which, put together, can form a substantive amount. These ‘doubly blessed’ donations- blessing him that gives and him that takes- will surely help the donor to connect with Welham in a positive and meaningful way, and also directly benefit the present and future generations of Welhamites.
