NewsInvestiture Ceremony - 2023 08-02-2023

The Investiture Ceremony for the newly appointed student council was organized by Welham Boys’ School, on February 8, 2023. This solemn event was presided over by the Chief Guest, the honourable Director General of Police of Uttarakhand, Shri Ashok Kumar.

 

The programme commenced with the Principal leading the school into prayer followed by the school choir singing ‘Higher Ground’. In her welcome address, the Principal, Ms. Sangeeta Kain congratulated the newly appointed Prefects and School Captain. She reposed her faith in them, adding that they will hopefully do everything possible to take the school from ‘Strength to Strength’.

 

Tryambak Pathak was elected as the School Captain and the House Captains and Prefects for the four Houses, namely – Ganga, Jamuna, Krishna, and Cauvery were designated their respective area of responsibility. All the members of the Prefectorial body took an oath to lead without ‘fear or favour’.

 

In his address, the Chief Guest DGP Uttarakhand, Shri Ashok Kumar dwelt on his perception of leadership and spoke about leading with grace and dignity. He also cited relevant anecdotes from his professional and day-to-day life which added value to his speech.

 

The newly appointed School Captain, Tryambak Pathak did not hold back while proposing the vote of thanks, adding that he felt thrilled at the very prospect of leading his school and thanked everyone for their contribution towards making the event a grand success.

 

The programme drew to a close with the whole school singing the school song.
