Unnati Tripathi, Squash Captain 2024-25 at Welham Boys' School, was selected to play in the World Junior Squash Championships held in Houston from July 18-23, 2024. In the Individual Category, Unnati finished 45th out of 128 players. She also played as part of the Indian Girls' Team, which achieved a commendable 7th place, an improvement from last year's 8th position.

Welhamite Unnati Tripathi won a Gold Medal for the second consecutive year in the Girls Under 17 category at the 14th Indian Junior Championships 2024, held at Daly College, Indore, from May 22-27, 2024. The international squash tournament featured 410 entries from countries including the USA, Australia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Egypt, and India.

Defending her 2023 title, Unnati triumphed with a score of 3-1. Additionally, Ex-Welhamite and Unnati's brother, Ansh Tripathi, secured fourth place in the Boys Under 19 category.

The selection process involved rigorous trials held at the Indian Squash Academy in Chennai from May 2nd to May 6th, 2024. The selection for this prestigious event was highly competitive, with only two players chosen in each category based on their performance at the trials, where Unnati was chosen as the 1st contestant in the Under-17 category.

Welham Boys’ School proudly hosted the 35th edition of the Golden Jubilee Basketball Tournament, a cherished tradition since its inception during the school’s 50th anniversary in 1987. This year's tournament, held from April 22nd to 25th, 2024, showcased the prowess of eight esteemed teams, engaging in spirited competition across 16 matches.

In the Semifinal rounds, Welham Boys’ School (Blue Team) triumphed over The Daly College, Indore, securing their spot in the finals, while Wynberg Allen School won against La’ Martiniere for Boys’, Kolkata.

The climactic Final match unfolded on April 25th, 2024, where Welham Boys' School – Blue Team faced off against Wynberg Allen School, ultimately claiming victory and the coveted Golden Jubilee Basketball Trophy with a commanding lead of 22 points. Kabir Shobhit Vaish from Welham Boys’ School earned the title of Most Valuable Player, while Shaurya Mittal of Wynberg Allen earned the title of the Most Promising Player.

Uttarakhand State Squash Championship 2023

Welhamites showcased their exceptional squash skills at The Vantage Hall Residential Girls School in Dehradun, and the result is a dazzling array of medals:

In the Individual categories, they secured an impressive tally of 5 Gold Medals, 4 Silver Medals, and 7 Bronze Medals.
In the Team Categories, their performance was equally spectacular, earning them 3 Gold Medals and 1 Silver Medal.

Uttar Pradesh Squash State Championship

Unnati Tripathi from Welham Boys’ School emerges as a shining star, clinching two Gold medals in the Girls under 19 and Women’s categories at the Uttar Pradesh Squash State Championship, hosted at Cawnpore Club Kanpur. Her remarkable achievements have earned her a spot at the prestigious National Games 2023 in Goa, scheduled for November 1-5, 2023.

All India IPSC Swimming Championship

Welham Boys’ School proudly participated in the All India IPSC Swimming Championships hosted at Pestle Weed Dehradun. Notably, two talented Welhamites, Astitva Sharma and Uriet Dewan, qualified for the SGFI National team. This championship witnessed the participation of 365 students from 23 schools across India.
In the Under 14 category:

• Astitva Sharma clinched the Silver medal in the 50m Butterfly and the Bronze medal in the 50m Freestyle.
• Our 4X100m Freestyle and Medley relay teams both secured Bronze medals.

In the Under 19 category:

• Yash Vardhan Mitruka secured the Bronze medal in the 100m Freestyle.
• Uriet Dewan earned Silver medals in both the 50m Butterfly and 200m Butterfly events.
• The 4X100m Medley relay team also secured the Bronze medal.

In total, our talented Welham athletes brought home three Silver medals and five Bronze medals.

Welham Boys' School secured the Runners-up position at the Doon School Junior School Tournament 2023, where a total of 12 skilled teams competed fiercely. Unnati Tripathi Shines at 30th Asian Junior Individual Championships

Welham Boys’ School takes immense pride in its student, Unnati Tripathi, who participated in the prestigious 30th Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships held in Dalian, China, from August 16th to 20th, 2023. Unnati showcased her skills as a representative of India in this championship, particularly in the U-17 Girls category, where she advanced to the pre-quarterfinals. Her remarkable performance is a source of great pride for Welham Boys' School. Notably, Unnati stood out as one of the top 2 participants from India, sponsored by the Central Government for this significant event.

Shri O.P. Garg Memorial Invitational Soccer Tournament

Welhamites showcased their soccer prowess at the All India Inter School Shri O.P. Garg Memorial Invitational Soccer Tournament hosted by Shri Ram Centennial School.

The Welham Boys Under 14 Soccer Team clinched victory in the final match with an impressive score of 3-0 securing the Championship Title. Shrey Gupta's outstanding performance earned him the Golden Boot award for being the top scorer of the tournament.

22nd UK Open State Roller Skating Championship 2023

The 22nd UK Open State Roller Skating Championship, 2023 witnessed fierce competition among 40 schools from across the state. In an outstanding display of skill and determination, Welhamites clinched the highly coveted overall best performance trophy. Their exceptional performance was evident as they emerged victorious in the Senior and Junior Roll Ball matches, as well as the Junior and Sub-Junior Roller Hockey matches. Additionally, they secured the runner-up position in the Senior and Junior In-line Hockey matches. Notably, some of our talented players also participated in the Roll Ball nationals in the Senior and Sub-Junior categories. Congratulations to the entire team on their remarkable success!

INTER SCHOOL AQUA MEET

Welham Boys’ School’s Swimming Team lifted the Championship Trophy and proved their mettle at the Inter School Aqua Meet held at the Shri Ram Centennial School. With an amazing showcase of talent, our team of 23 students competed across diverse age categories, leaving an indelible mark. Their exceptional skills and dedication led to a remarkable achievement of 8 Gold, 8 Silver, and 5 Bronze medals. Astitva Sharma received special recognition as the Best Swimmer in the Junior category. The entire Welham community exults in this momentous triumph as we proudly hoist the championship trophy. Heartfelt congratulations to our outstanding swimmers and the coach for their remarkable achievements. Their unwavering commitment and hard work have truly paid off!

DEHRADUN DISTRICT SQUASH CHAMPIONSHIP

Welham Boys’ School stole the show at the 6th Dehradun District Squash Championship held at Vantage Hall Girls' Residential School. The talented Welhamites achieved remarkable success by securing an impressive tally of 5 Gold, 5 Silver, and 11 Bronze medals across both individual and team events. The team competitions were fiercely contested, with Welham A Team clinching the Gold in the Open category by defeating The Doon School Team by 2-1, while Welham B Team secured the Bronze by triumphing over RIMC A Team with the same scoreline.

In the Boys under 15 category, the Welham A Team exhibited their prowess by claiming the Gold after a thrilling 2-1 victory against the RIMC Team, while the Welham B team demonstrated their skill by capturing the Bronze by defeating the RIMC B Team. The Individual category witnessed outstanding performances, with Manas Mohan earning the Gold in BU-11, Atulit Tripathi achieving Gold in BU-15, and Unnati Tripathi emerging as the Gold medalist in the Women's division. Other notable achievements include Prakhar Lohia's Silver in BU-19, Atulit Tripathi's Silver in BU-17, Nivan Agarwal's Silver in BU-13, Darsh Chachan's Silver in BU-11, and Mr. Hari Om Tripathi's Silver in the Men over 35 category.
