Young Regional Round Square Conference

The four days Young Regional Round Square Conference for the South Asia & Gulf Region at Punjab Public School Nabha from 11th Dec. to 14th Dec. 2014 was a great success. The theme for the conference was “Out Of Aladdin’s Amazon” and the aim was to develop and mould the young minds for future. It also aimed at removing barriers so that our young representatives come out as compassionate, spirited, humble and enlightened international citizens. Twenty schools with 116 participated in the conference.

Our School Participants in this conference were from class VIII - Vedaansh Kaushik , Prateek Tibrewal, Shoib Shawl, Lakshay Agarwal and from Class VII – Sarthak Tayal, Rudraksh Bhandari, Sanskar Bindal, Aryan Gupta, Vasu Agarwal.

The first day after reaching campus the registration followed by tea and snacks and Ice breaking session. Next day opening ceremony included lighting lamp by the Chief Guest Mrs Papri Ghosh Principal Al Gubra and Principal Dr. Jagpreet Singh. Lighting lamp symbolizes dispelling of darkness from the human mind and it was followed by Sarasvati vandana ‘Tujh se Sadhak…’ a symbol of higher wisdom and knowledge. Then there was a brief ceremony of flag bearers from the participating schools. The messages in a key note addresses by the Principal Dr. Jagpreet Singh and the Chief Guest were motivational and impressive.

    

At this occasion Ex-PPS (2014) Eastpal Singh also shared his experience and achievements. He focused on the theme of conference very well. Amazon was an uncharted territory. He took the participants on human’s journey since earth was formed 3.7 billion years ago. He said the world has come far from the prehistoric times. Then he presented the scenario of the world today. He spoke about increasing population, globalization, sudden increase in the exchange of knowledge and better communication. He also emphasized how literacy has gone up to increase in the number of people more jobs have been created, brain and brain communication through internet, millions of people have been brought out of poverty , technological advances, surface technology, brain gaming , global network of health, Organizations have helped fight HIV, Ebola, SARS, and combating terrorism.

    

These morning session was followed by Conference Photo, Baraza Session and Horse Riding and Band Display and in the evening ‘The Blue Marvel’ (play)and Rangla Punjab, Bhangra and Gidda. Next day all participants were taken to a near by place ‘Nanoki’ a picnic spot- full of games and soft competitions. Every one enjoyed this place, food and entertainment. After lunch coming back to School there was a play by theatre artist from Delhi named as ‘Purple mangoes’. This evening we enjoyed D J Party and Bonfire and Headmaster’s Dinner for escort teachers & guests.

On the conclusive day a big surprise to all was the Key note address by Ritwik Kuchal (W B S) in the morning. In the end of Ritwik’s talk Dr. Jagpreet Singh highly appreciated that he spoke so well although less but he spent much time on responding queries of the participant students from various Schools that gave a great satisfaction to the delegates..

The four day successful events of this Round Square conference closed in a gaiety function giving satisfaction to all.
